The central and state government G2C services have integrated to form CSCs. Apna CSC is basically a digital portal which serves the citizens in remote and rural areas of India. The Indian government is planning to establish more than 1 lakh CSC across the country, thereby delivering the government services to rural areas. Here are some of the services included in CSC – electricity, broadband, mobile, water, Gas, DTH, etc bill payments, toll charge payments, availing government schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, voter card enrollment etc.
What is the Eligibility for Registering Apna CSC in 2019?
You need to fulfill the eligibility criteria to be able to apply for Apna CSC in your locality. There are a few things required to be able to participate in the CSC scheme like education, age, etc. Here are the eligibility details for application Apna CSC in 2019.
- You should be a local person. You must belong to the village or area in which you want to open a Common Service Center (CSC).
- You must have at least 18 years of age to apply for CSC.
- You must have at least 12 years of academic education. That is you must pass intermediate/10+2/ matriculation from center or state recognized board.
- You must be fluent in writing, speaking and reading your local language.
- Basic computer skills and English language is compulsory.

What are the Infrastructure Requirements for Starting Apna CSC in 2019?
Check the above section of this article to know the eligibility criteria for applying to CSC. If you are eligible, then here is the infrastructure required to start your own CSC in your village or locality.
The government of India is committed to open over 100,000 CSCs across the country. Here are the prerequisites to start your Apna CSC.
Infrastructure Required to Start Apna CSC
- Building or a room with an area of 100-150 Sq.ft. i.e, 12-17 square yards.
- Two computers with licensed operating systems of Windows OS of XP SP 2 or above
- Portable generator or UPS facility with at least 5 hours of battery backup.
- Two printers. 1 Dot Matrix printer and 1 Inkjet printer.
- The computer must have hard disk storage of at least 120 GB.
- Minimum RAM is 512 MB.
- Web Cam or Digital Camera.
- The computer must be equipped with a CD/DVD drive.
- Wireless/broadband/V-SAT connectivity.
- IRIS and Biometric authentication scanner for providing banking services.
The total cost is estimated at 1.25 lakhs to 1.50 lakhs excluding the building and land costs.
How to Register for Apna CSC(Common Service Center) Online in 2019?
You need to register your CSC before starting the new CSC in the locality. You can register your CSC and check it’s status online. If you are interested in opening a CSC (Common Service Center) in your area and you are eligible, you can easily apply for it online. Here’s the step by step instructions for applying CSC online.
Note: Keep your Aadhar card and mobile phone handy before starting to register your CSC online.
Step 1: Open your web browser( Google Chrome or Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) and type www.csc.gov.in in the address bar.
This is the official website started by Government of India to register the Apna CSC and check CSC status.
Step 2: On the right side, you can see a link “CSC Registration”. Click on it.
Step 3: On the new page, click on the link “New VLE Registration, Click Here”.
Step 4: Type your 12 digit Aadhar card Number in the respective box.
Step 5: It shows 3 authentication options. They are One Time Password, IRIS, and FingerPrint. It’s better to choose One Time Password as you can receive it on your mobile phone. Choose it and click the Proceed button.
Step 6: You’ll receive OTP on your mobile phone. Enter it on the website. If you do not receive OTP, you can click on Resent OTP link.
Step 7: Once you have passed through the OTP process, you’ll see that the website has fetched all your personal details from UIDAI Aadhar database like your name, address, father’s name, mobile number, email address etc. These data cannot be modified. If you need any changes, you need to visit the Aadhar enrollment center to change your Aadhar details and then apply for CSC).
Step 8: Now, you have to upload the center’s geo-tagged image. Click on the Submit button.
Congrats! You’ve successfully registered Apna CSC online and you may need to wait for a couple of days to get the confirmation to your mobile number and email ID. Anyways, you’ll receive the application number on the email ID which you have submitted for Aadhar card. Through this CSC application number, you can track the status of your Apna CSC application.
How to Check the Status of Apna CSC Application or Registration Online?
Note: Keep you CSC application number handy. You’ll receive your CSC application number on your email ID. (The email which you have submitted for Aadhar).
Step 1: Go to www.csc.gov.in from your web browser.
Step 2: On the right panel, you’ll see “CSC Registration” link under the tab “CSC Network Sites”. Click on the link.
Step 3: Under Account Status, you’ll see “Click here to check status” link. Click on it and proceed.
Step 4: Enter your CSC application number and fill the captcha box correctly. Click on the Submit button to check your CSC registration status.
Usually, it takes around 20-30 days to get your CSC registered.
